Friendship Never Fades
When she realizes she had been wrong all along...

coarse scrapbook pages
shards of chopped paper
remnants of glue clumped at corners
curled tape, often repaired
damages from years of tears
she had believed it once
she had thought it to be true
aged hands caress the rough
memories slicing old skin
blood mingles with water stains
the pictures had only been occasional
for she always thought
they could simply remember together
she had believed it once
she had thought it to be true
that unlike those pictures
their friendship would never fade.
