UPDATE STATUS 9/22/08: TAC, as you might have noticed, is on temporary hiatus for notetaking (see below) and because I'm busy working on my other stories. I have not abandoned this story as I love it too much, but there has been no feedback whatsoever on it for at least a couple of years now, so I have little initiative to spend time on it at the moment. Being a writer is both give and take, and I've been doing an awful lot of giving away for free, with precious little given back to me in return. *shrug* Based on the lack of feedback I figure nobody is in any great hurry to read more of this, but it still gets hits, so, if you're looking for new chapters, sorry for now! Better luck sometime in the future, though I can't say when. Keep checking back here, I guess.
NOTE 9/18/07: The big question on everyone's mind: "So, Tehuti...why haven't you updated this story in like a year now?!" *sobs and wails of grief*
Okay...so...only one person has asked that so far, and there wasn't any sobbing or wailing involved. But anyway.
The honest answer is...I have NO IDEA where the hell I am!! You see, Reader(s), Tehuti has the nasty habit of making things up as she goes along, and while that in itself isn't so bad, consider that she has the even NASTIER habit of NOT KEEPING NOTES AS SHE GOES ALONG. >_< I keep MEANING to but keep NOT doing so. As a result, what quickly becomes a VERY long and meandering story with numerous plotlines turns into a labyrinth. Keep in mind, too, that I'm not only working on TAC but on various other stories, and I tend to stop work on one whenever my mood tells me to and work on another instead. I set aside work on TAC to work on my fantasy series and...well...that just made my forgetfulness worse. Now I'm lost on BOTH fronts, because of course I didn't keep notes on that story either.
I keep trying to remedy this by starting to take notes to catch up, but so far all my attempts have proven to be too time consuming and lengthy. At the time of this writing, I'm trying again, as simply as I can yet while keeping the important details intact, but it'll probably take a while. *sigh*
So...no, TAC is NOT on permanent hiatus, nor do I ever intend it to be, in the foreseeable future. What is TAC? It's just in the hands of an inept writer who can't keep track of where her own head is. >_< If that thought doesn't deter you, I do hope you can remain (incredibly) patient, and keep checking back every so often, or else mail me (social_phobe@yahoo.com--please include a sensible subject) and ask me to send you a notice whenever I update. A REAL update, not just a pathetic note like this. (Please make sure your e-mail client can accept mail from mine! I. e., so it doesn't think I'm Spam!)
BTW, the writer is open to receiving mail from readers of this or any of her other stories, and REALLY REALLY loves hearing what people think, if they're enjoying what they read. I don't get a terrible lot of encouragement or return readers (probably for good reason), so when I do it's always a nice surprise.
Tar for now and I do hope somebody is still out there whenever Part 69 comes along!
As you may or may not know, my incredibly longish fantasy/erotica series, The Ameni Chronicles, is undergoing EXTREME rewrites due to a horrid lack of plot. (I can't help it--erotica sucks for me...dunno if that pun was intended or not...without plot.) The later chapters get VERY long and VERY plot heavy, and I hate a bottom-heavy story, so rewrite it is. I have NEVER once undertaken such a massive rewriting effort on ANYTHING before, so...I'm basically feeling my way around in the dark. And typing a lot. o_o;
Since these chapters can regularly run up to 80kb or more, and they all need proofing, this rewrite will take me a while. Yet I've noticed that the Chronicles continue to draw a decent number of hits, most apparently from offsite readers (very few comments, at least). I hated having to restrict later chapters from anyone's view, yet I felt it necessary to preserve the integrity of the plot or...something. o_o Basically, I'm afraid of people reading through the unedited chapters and never coming back, and missing out on HUMONGOUS chunks of story. (Really, I had one part that moved from like 13kb to 80kb or something like that. GAH!)
Yet I know how impatient people can get seeing the last public chapter sitting there, and sitting there, and sitting there, and nothing new being added for weeks, and then wandering off in frustration and never returning; I had that happen the last time I posted this thing. :/ For the record, I'm focusing mostly on my 13+-rated Manitou Island series as they get most of the attention in my port, and this story doesn't; yet I can't put the Chronicles on COMPLETE hold, since I have to work it out of my system somehow!! o_o;; So just in case anybody starts to think I'm not working on this thing AT ALL, and starts to lose hope of seeing any more Apsiu yumminess...I've created this update bulletin just to assuage your fears. Check back every so often just to see where I am. This won't be updated every frigging day, but I'll try to keep it current with what I've got done so far.
Completely new chapters to the story (the so-called "lost chapters") will be designated in red. Latest additions to the story (i. e., where I am RIGHT NOW) will be designated in blue.
Thank you for stopping by! And if you enjoy the series, even if you aren't registered here, PLEASE COMMENT!--social_phobe@yahoo.com (Seriously--all of one person is currently commenting on this thing.)
"Lost Chapter 1: Decoy" : Entirely new chapter covering the East Tribe coup, not included in the story before. Plus a tie-in to much later (60+) chapters. Writing complete; posted publicly.
"Lost Chapter 2: Coup" : Entirely new chapter covering the Red Tribe coup, not included in the story before. Writing complete; posted publicly.
ERROR CORRECTED 7/21/04: Yipes!! A while back I had edited some earlier chapters to reflect the naming of a recurring character who has for quite a while been nameless--yet I only just noticed tonight that I had not posted these changes to the chapters on this site! o_o;;; For clarification, in Parts 7, 8, 9, 11, and 13: The character previously known only as "Nehekhi's lieutenant" or "Nehekhi's first lieutenant"--he is the rather sour-tempered lieutenant always talking with Nehekhi or snapping at the Moru in these chapters, and the one who was conked over the head at the end of Part 7--is now known as Taka. I just got fed up of calling him "the lieutenant" when he had obviously taken on a life of his own, thus Taka it is (plus he plays a more important role later on and gets his own backstory in the Lost Chapters). Said chapters have been edited to reflect this change, and all following chapters will of course include this information. And so if you started reading and suddenly this character named Taka appeared and you had no idea who he was, that's who he is--he's been there all along, just unnamed. Sorry about that. >_<
ERROR CORRECTED 7/27/04: Missing nonconsensual and underage disclaimers placed on Parts 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, and 16. Future chapters will be clearly marked in case of underage characters or nonconsensual scenes. Please keep in mind that such scenes DO NOT condone such behavior; this is simply how many societies worked back then.
NOTE 9/4/05: I've caved in and started to publicly post the new miniserial, "Antakh Of The Apsiu" . Please be aware this is even more of a WIP than TAC! Enjoy!
