Fireworks
A short poem about the 4th without her.

Heading out for the 4th of July show.
Going alone after letting you go.
Reaching my limits to see it through.
Covered in feelings I never knew.

And I just wanted you to know.
Never thought I would miss you so.
Since I really love you,
That's why I let go.

They'll be no fireworks in my heart this year.
No lit up sky to see through the tears.
Imagined explosions heard through deaf ears.
Just left with memories of you,
And the fireworks we once knew.
