This was a class assignment for a poetry book back in May 2004. We had to do ten poems, and one of mine was a sonnet. Hope you enjoy. - I Wonder - Long blonde hair, dusty blue eyes I wonder what’s in her that I can’t be Makeup covered face, a clever disguise Is she pretty? Prettier than me? I wonder if he’s kissed her Held her hand so gently, so tight Wanting to hear her voice, for sure Calling her house so late at night I wonder if he holds her in his arms Speaking softly into her ear Laying on his silky smooth charm Whispering, “I wish you were always here” If he says “I Love You” it better be true He’s cheated me, he won’t be cheating you It only takes a few seconds to review someone’s work. If you would, please review this piece. Your time and opinion would be greatly appreciated.
