The Passion of the Prairie
Slam grand finale part 2 - destruction

Smoke. At first a ribbon, stretched & curling ~ slender in the sky
wrapping fire fingers 'round the gasping breath of lady land;
choking her from green to charred, the killer catches wind of greed;
swiftly comes his mission of destruction to her flowered fields.

Sinister he skips across her streams as if from stone to stone
stopped by none and nothing for as long as he would celebrate;
amplified in whispers, shrieking howls fall quick and die to silence:
soundtrack of a last performance filmed in flaring scarlet scarves.

Razed and wrought, a frenzied kill ensues and strengthens reaper hands
wrapping fire fingers 'round the gasping breath of lady land
erasing living phrases written, kissed upon her bending reeds;
tenderly she lay while blazes rape her into burned submission.

By morbid leaping measures, heaving heat consumes a gentle prey,
stopped by none and nothing for as long as he would celebrate;
rolling, raucous laughter roaring loud and long and unrepentant
amplified in whispers, shrieking howls fall quick and die to silence.

Smoke. At last a ribbon, stretched & curling ~ slender in the sky;
swiftly came his mission of destruction to her flowered fields.
Wrapping fire fingers 'round the gasping breath of lady land,
tenderly she lay while blazes raped her into burned submission.
