Hi Everyone! How are things? I just got back from Florida two weeks ago. My husband and I were visiting my sister. I got to see the ocean and got some seashells. Can you believe summer is almost gone? Where did it go?

Angel sold her house and she, Phillip and cats will be moving to Illinois from California. Hopefully, we will be able to visit each other. She has been busy making beautiful sigs.

This month's newsletter, we are writing about biographies and some more ideas on what to write about. We hope you will enjoy this newsletter and if you have any ideas or comments, please contact Angel or myself. Sit back and enjoy.

We had a request to write about writing biographies. I didn't find too much info but this is what we found out. When interviewing someone, to write a biography about him or her, get the facts. Use their words to talk about their life story. Don't add your own comments unless they compliment the person. Always be tactful. You don't want any negative or hard feelings with the person you are writing about. Get pictures of the person you are writing about. Let them give you copies of their personal pictures and be sure to return them when you are done with them. You may want to take a few pictures of the person you are interviewing and let them see and approve the pictures before you print them.

Don't ask questions that are too personal and embarrassing to the person you will be writing about. He or she may decide the interview is over and you will have a short book or no story at all. Don't twist the words of the person you are interviewing. I didn't find any info on this but I assume you will probably have a signed agreement with the person you are writing about before and after the interview and the person you interviewed will need to read the biography you are printing about him or her.

Make the person you are interviewing feel comfortable with you. If you are interviewing a movie star, another writer, singer or who ever the person is, hopefully, it will be someone you admire. This will make for a sucessful interview and you will both feel honored about the interview.

I wasn't able to find any info about unauthorized biographies. I don't see how you can write an biography about a person if you didn't get permission. If any of you have any info on this, please e-mail us and let us know. I hope this is somewhat helpful about biographies.

Okay. Here are some more ideas about what to write about for a magazine or a story. As a writer, you are always on the look out for a story. Families and friends could make for an interesting story. I didn't find out about my sister until seven years ago. Long story but I wrote about Tammy in my on line journal and in the item: WHO IS MEGAN ROSE? If you write about families and friends, write the good things about them. Maybe they go water rafting on the rough rivers. These would be quite an adventure. Maybe your friends and families go mountain climbing, encountered bears while camping, maybe they're famous or know famous people, these would make for good stories.Use your own judgement about what to write about families and friends.

Write about yourself. Do you go camping? Are you a single parent? Do you work for the Fire Department? Are you a doctor, nurse, interior decorater? The list goes on. You can write about your hobbies, your spouse, someone you are dating, etc. As a person, you are unique. We all have stories, so write about yourself. You will be surprised on what you could learn about yourself.

How about community events? Everyone has a county fair and festivals. We have the Blueberry Festival in Indiana. Everyone goes blueberry crazy. We have blueberry shakes, pies, cakes, pancakes, donuts and all kinds of foods with blueberries. We have Elvis imitaters, imitation Beatles{who are really cool}! There are flea markets, tractor pulls, all kind of games, Art Shows, carnival rides and four days worth of fun and games. This is a community event and the local paper has articles and pictures galore of this event. See what kind of events you can write about in your community and submit it to the local paper.

Holidays and seasons. Writing about Christmas, Halloween and other holidays are a good thing to write about. What's in season gets readers attention as well as the editors. So with this, in mind, write your heart out.

Angel and I hope you have enjoyed this issue. We are not sure about what to write about next month but we are open for suggestions. Starting in October, we will write about the holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Stay tuned with us and please e-mail us with any ideas you have. Take care. Love and Hugs: Megan and Angel

All sigs done by Angel! Beautiful job as usual!
