WHAT IS TRUE LOVE?

What is love, the enigma?
I’ll dwell on this a bit.
Love is that which all proclaim,
But few understand it.

Love’s a double edged sword,
Thorns and the petals fresh.
It has a heavenly scent
But also pricks the flesh.

True love is full in itself,
In nothing does it lack.
A girl truly loves her doll,
Not asking to love back.

Whom to love and how to love
And why love another?
About irrelevant doubts
Why should the love bother?

True love is, in fact, divine,
Happens in a moment.
It blesses the lovers’ heart;
Love’s fire is transcendent.

Love’s a petal, love’s a thorn,
It’s a song, a silence;
Love is sweet, love is bitter,
Has a heady fragrance.

But, friend, in this selfish world,
Let me gently remind:
Only at the feet of Lord
Truly one can love find.
