Blanket Man
Rated: E | Poetry | Women's | #873740
This is a didactic poem to women with soft hearts.
BLANKET MAN

Watch out for the man who smokes a joint,
look out for the one who drinks
Don't give your heart to the man with a fist
who is better than you, he thinks.

Don't fall for a man who's bigger than life
for his heart is full of lies
But, most of all, don't marry the man
who's prone to generalize.

He'll box you with a label
and write you like a book
Then never see you for what you are
you'll question his second look.

Don't become his lifelong partner
don't say "I do" to this man
You'll never be able to change his mind
you'll never rewrite his plan.

The man with the closed opinions
is the man with the narrow mind
No matter how hard you try to show him
he'll always be mulishly blind.

So, please, do as I tell you
do everything that you can
to stay away from these hopeless men
and watch out for "Blanket Man".
