The Discovery
        by Priscamor  (priscamor@Writing.Com)
I had been walking in this world without a thought
Of where I've been or where my steps would take me.
Today as tomorrow, tomorrow as today, always the same.
Like a stupid machine, my heart played as I had told it to.
My spirit, which dreamt of paradise, searching without hope.
I taught it to feel and to love what I saw as good enough
Sometimes I remember the struggle and the thought that
To suffer is to live.
Now when I look in the deep darkness of the sky,
I see the trembling stars like burning flames.
I feel like I can reach them in flight and become one
With their light by the melding of one kiss.

I saw him as an image in a dream from long ago,
Like a blurry streak of light that swims through the night.
My soul was suddenly full of a burning desire,
Like what attracts the abyss, the mystery dragged me.
I still do not know what I believe in.
However, this yearning tells me I have something divine inside.
