THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD In dreams I go back again to the golden days of old, Each night I find I'm walking down the long and winding road. I see the faces once so dear that I left along the way, A cheery smile in greeting and words that bid me stay. But I had to travel onward and as time was drawing near, I told them I'd be back one day and not to shed one tear. Now the years have spoken and I've carried quite a load, I need to find my way back To the long and winding road. To remember all the yesterdays when life was simple and complete, I long to find what I left behind and admit that I have faced defeat. May they all be there to greet me all those dear people in my past, for I've finally found the answer and I am home again, at last. Countrymom 8/9/04
