*BlackCity!*
Where on every corner there is a liquor store. And with in many a hearts love lies no more. Where all the dyshikis and the Afros are gone. No one holds up the peace sign anymore tell me what's wrong? Where my sistas walk around with a frown on their faces I don't know whether to speak or get the hell out of their way! Where my brotha's call me a bitch if I don't give them no time Some one tell me what's wrong with this BlackCity of mine? No one give their seats up to the elderly anymore. On the bus they make a fuss cussing loud embarrassing us. You, he, she, they whose skin is like mine BlackCity wuz up? Do you remember the time? When we use to love eachother have faith in eachother fight march pray and get on our knees for one another? Now if you believe in the revolution you best get up or sit down. Otherwise, BlackCity's gonna end up being a 'ghost' town. Now when you see me you see love that's deep with in myself BlackCity as long as I got that I don't need nothing else. Peace* 2003© Bev Mba
