Hollow Heart
A poem about unrequited love
Rated:
E
by
Avg Rating: (5)
His hollow heart has no desire
To light a flame of internal fire
Void of love, honor and emotion
He rides a crest in a secluded ocean

Someone’s hero he could easily be
With heart in hand for all to see
Instead he travels a lonely course
And continues to ride a one-man horse

Withdrawn and hidden from the joy of sharing
Is he beyond the point of ever caring?
I once caught a glimpse of warmth in his eyes
Now forbidding, they've become unrecognized

Haunting memories will soon replace
Unrequited love that claimed that space
If only he would just turn around
He’d know I’m waiting to be found
