The White Vestment

Vestment of snow, like Mary's soul,
Untouched, untainted, bright and new,
Gold crown with cipher placed below,
Star and Sea of truest blue.

Garment fit for Mary's feast,
Worn with honour, as we sing,
To celebrate her rise to Heaven,
Crowned, enthroned, beside her King.

O, that our souls could be as this!
Spotless robe of purest white,
Virgin beauty manifest,
Unblemished, worthy in His sight.
