The reason for my love of you is clear.
It's not one special trait that calls my love. It's not the way you always fix your hair, And not your shape that gave my heart a shove. It's not your haunting eyes that called to me, And not your lovely voice that made me sway, Nor not the caring way you talk with me, And nor your walk makes me love you each day. Your personality is more than fair, But not the reason why I cherish you; And though your smile may be beyond compare, It is not that which makes my love so true. Not one of these is what makes me admire, Yet, all these things in one make me desire.
