HUSBANDS AND DOGS
Dogs and husbands bark too much, Both are a big nuisance. While we can muzzle a dog, We cannot our husbands. Feed the dog and pat his head, And he will be docile. Do the same with your husband, Yet he will be hostile. Husbands are unlike a dog, They cannot be compared. Yet, the one common thing is That they cannot be shared. Poor husbands often lament That they live like a dog; While trying to fulfill the whims Of wives, they often slog. Of the two, some prefer a Dog and some the other. But those with a husband dog, Do not need another! • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format * A mild counterpart of this poem may be viewed at: "WIFE AND THORN" M C Gupta 31 August 2004
