Jack entered the bar with a dozen roses. He had finally spent the night with Kaitlin and was supposed to meet her inside. As he walked in his heart pounded in his ears.
Jack spotted her at the bar, kissing the bartender. The roses drooped as he crushed them into lifelessness, thorns stabbing his palm.
