A Bouquet
A soliloquy to a memory.

"Roses never fade"
The thought echoes in my mind.
Something I told her,
Must have been a thousand times.
The rose in that thought
Are the memories far gone.
Times and people past,
History when love was strong.
Invading my life
Parades of roses go by.
Now still continues
Despite yearnings and sighs.
It's hard, I realize,
Longing for a certain past;
Since the past is lost
And only memory lasts.
All roses have thorns,
And my thorn that never fades,
Seems to be the love
From a history long played.
