Those Little White Lies
Where a little white lie has a deadly ending.

I never expected he would do this to me,
Not in a million years.
Those little white lies were meant to be
The driving force to bring forth the tears.

Tears that burn so relentlessly,
Cascading down my pale cheeks.
I don’t know why I couldn’t see,
His deception had been going on for weeks.

Through his candied lips poured the lies,
Filling my heart with love darkly tainted.
I should have seen in his Judas eyes,
That he and lies were well acquainted.

Then came that infamous night,
When revenge comes to pay.
I would turn everything to right,
Before he sees the new light of day.

Through the stealth of the dark,
A shadow follows his heels.
To an unknown fate he embarks,
And all the truths it reveals!

An hour passes and twelve minutes more,
Draw me relentlessly upward,
Finally to stop at the love nest’s door,
To submit justice as my reward.

All my senses become sharpened and keen,
I can smell his vile scent,
And the woman from in between.
To Hell they both will be sent.

Hate-chilled fingers grip colder steel,
The innocent’s scream rips through the air,
Fearfully eying the gun I wield,
As I lower the sight with great care.

Weeping his words for mercy on him,
I pull back the hammer with determination.
To dole out exacting punishment so grim,
Fate’s final call is extermination.

So heed these solemn words,
And don’t tell those little white lies.
They serve no purpose and no rewards,
It will serve that no one dies.
