In these arms I embraced you,
Slowly fading from your sight. If I had known you were untrue, I would have made things right. Warned, but I didn’t comprehend, Thinking they just didn’t know. Realizing now, I must pretend So my real feelings won’t show. All the promises you had made Have been carelessly broken. I live my life eternally afraid From the words you’ve spoken. Within these halls I remain unseen, Never acknowledged as your wife, Completing my daily routine, But never really kissing life.
