GOODBYE
Husband dear, don’t cry for me Do not feel for me pain. I quit this home and the world Never to come again. We had our differences Our likes, dislikes and whim, The cup of discontent was Rather full to the brim. On past occasions I tried To kill myself, the cause. But every time I thought of The children and did pause. They are grown and so am I, Face no longer charming. You have no time for me now. My looks are alarming. This is the time to act out The end scene of my life. Goodbye, O my dear husband, Here goes your loving wife. * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. * A sister poem on this theme is "GOODBYE, O MY DEAR HUSBAND" M C Gupta Created: 6 September 2004
