The jailer of my heart
You’re trapping me inside I stay up locked away My love you try to hide I thought you were the one I was ready to commit You have now disowned us So in this cell I sit My pain is choking me My head is numbed and clear I feel claustrophobic In here I shed no tears You promised me freedom But I’ve never seen it The windows all barred up And my chains still fit But you don’t own me now Because tonight’s the night I’m digging my way out ‘Cause you were never right So now I’ll leave you here And steal back all my pride The “chain” my finger wore Is by your pillow side And now I’m gone at last Oh jailer of my heart I’ve found my freedom key And a brand new, fresh start
