Classroom Blues
I sit in class and hear the clock It talks to me, tick tock tick tock The teacher keeps slowly talking on So I try real hard not to yawn But, alas, my yawn lets loose Uh oh, I am one cooked goose! Teacher calls my name out loud Right in front of the classroom crowd! My heart beats fast and fingers shake But now I'm really wide awake Up to the board I must go To do some math that I don't know! Everyone watches me write the number Oh my goodness, don't let me blunder! When I finish I stand awhile But I see the teacher has a big smile I was lucky and filled with fright But somehow got the answer right Boy, I sure did learn my lesson To stay awake and count my blessings!
