The Ribbon
Rated: E | Poetry | Romance/Love | #888587
So close, yet so far away
She stood upon the shore
The soft sea foam
Caressing her ankles
Her eyes filled
With the vision of the moon
Softly she sang

She stood upon the shore
The warm sea breeze
Brushing her cheek
Her heart filled
With the sound of the sea
Softly she sighed

She stood upon the shore
The blue ribbon
Slipping away
Her favor lost
With the waves it drifted
Softly she cried

It drifted upon the sea
The sea currents
Gently drifting
Toward its fate
Finding the river's mouth
Kissing its banks

He stood upon the shore
The warm river
Beckoning him
His eyes saw it
With care he lifted it
Gently holding

He stood upon the shore
The blue ribbon
Summoning him
His heart felt it
Drawing it to his breast
Softly he sang.
