                   Prelude to Indulgence

Sitting in my bed
No TV to compete with the thoughts in my head
No distractions from my mental preparations
For this occasion

My hands don't know
How to behave themselves until you show
How to answer the door and know what to do
When I'll greet you

So I fumble around
Doing a whole lot of nothing and making no sound
Doing a bad impression of seeming to be calm
With sweaty palms

Over at the door
My eyes cast a furtive glance across the floor
My eyes visualize the path I'll have to walk
Now there's a knock

Yes you're really here
The shadow of doubt on how to act turns into fear
The shadow of your feet awaits me patiently outside
And I cannot hide

With a deep inhale
And slew of thoughts and possibilities I turn pale
And slay the doubts from my nervous mental core
I open the door

And there you are
Grinning at me like a fan does to a movie star
Grinning at a motel room and my lack of guile
I can only smile

Then with a hug
Wondering if my feet will make a squeak on the rug
Wondering if our indulgence could lead to better sin
I invite you in

But what to say
All my carefully chosen words have run away
All my doubts and hopes swirl while we stand
You take my hand

We take a rest
There's only one bed but that's all for the best
There's no schedule for us or need to be verbose
We huddle close

I like it here
Where I play with your hair and nuzzle your ear
Where your body makes my attraction to you furious
This is luxurious

Sitting in my bed for this occasion, my hands don't know when I'll greet you. So I fumble around with sweaty palms. Over at the door now there's a knock. Yes you're really here, and I cannot hide. With a deep inhale I open the door, and there you are. I can only smile, then with a hug I invite you in. But what to say? You take my hand. We take a rest; we cuddle close. I like it here - this is luxurious!
