Hi Everyone! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! How is everyone? It's autumn in Indiana and cold. I have orange pumpkins and white pumpkins on my porch. How cool is that?
Angel moved to Illinois. She and Phillip and the cats are fine. They have a cute little house and they will have their first Halloween in their new house. I hope we will see each other soon one of these days.

What do you think of when you think of Halloween? Black cats, pumpkins, ghosts, vampire and things that go bump in the night? I remember the year I dressed up as Gretie of ET and my son went as ET. I wore a green dress with an apron and had my hair in dog ears. I looked like a little girl. The man at Sears kept looking at me strange when I stopped to pick up my order.
Another time I was an Indian and I worked at the Nursing Home and one of my patients kept yelling to get that hippie away from her. She didn't recogonize me. I am too old to dress up these days so I enjoy Halloween my way. I make sure I have pumpkins on my porch every year and a black cats decorations up in my house. I love to watch Dark Shadows and The Munsters, This is what I love about Halloween. I have some contributions from others who subscribe to the newsletter . So, I will let them take over.

Two awardicons were given:

Here is a poem from Johnny Mac. He is quite the story teller and a good, dear friend.

Spooky Halloween
By:
Johnny Mac

Halloween, spooky and frightning.
Lots of free goodies without really trying.

Witches and monsters are roaming around.
Casting terrible shadows right there on the ground.

Razor sharp teeth seemingly waiting to pounce.
You walking around as scared as a mouse.

Jack-O-Lantern in his bright orange coat.
Being spooky he's making you choke.

Then out of the bushes all covered in white.
A very large person you thinks come for a fight.

But then a laugh that you have heard times before,
It's only the neighbor from the very next door.

Then Mom and Dad enter, the jolly affray,
Laughing and growling on this special day.

And hand in hand, you stroll down the street,
Searching together for some very sweets.

And when it is over, you take of your guise,
Only to find a real monster who then rides and hides.
Spooky Halloween!
YOU BET!

Thanks, Johnny! That is so cute!

Here are some comments from Doc. A real nice guy and friend.
Along time ago as a boy, I used to celebrate Halloween. I would dress up as either a cowboy or a hobo. Two of my male friends and I would go trick or treating in the neighborhod. We would come back with sacks of candy. After trick or treating, we would all gather at my parent's house to bob for apples and have hot chocolate.

Now a days, I don't do much at Halloween. I pass out candy to the kids coming to my door. To me these days, Halloween is just another day. I miss my two male friends at Halloween. I have not heard from them since we all entered the military in 1967. I don't know whether they survived or not.

My parents always use to decorate the house with pumpkins and other Halloween decorations. I used to enjoy making a Jack-O-Lantern each Halloween.

These are just my thoughts on Halloween.

Thanks, Doc. Megan and Angel again. Doc is recovering from surgery he had this summer. We wish him the best!

Angel and I wish everyone a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Next month's issue will be about Thanksgiving. Any ideas, please e-mail Angel or me. We will probably do two Christmas issues. I will get out my christmas information book and write about Christmas traditions. We will give out two awardicons for the best Christmas story or poem. So, I hope you will send you a enlightning story or poem. Take care. We love you! Megan and Angel
