Figments of Pigment
By JL Whitten I remember hearing the stirring speeches of Martin Luther King, Against prejudice and injustice his voice did ring. Liberty and justice was meant for every woman and man, And with the right to persue happiness as best they can. I've never understood the need to discriminate, Or why mere color would be an excuse to hate. I feel it is a total figment of the imagination, That one pigment should think itself higher in station. How can one think that one is greater or lesser than another, When all of us, created by God, are sister and brother?
