Guinevere is a legendary Queen and several accounts have been written about her. This is what I found out about her.

Guinevere is called the daughter of King Leodegrance of Cameliard by Malory, the daughter of King Ogrfan Gawr by Welsh tradition. She is also been called the daughter of a Roman noble.

Guinevere was extremely beautiful and admired by all men. She had an affair with Sir Lancelot, the love of her life while being married to King Arthur. She lived in the beautiful land of Camelot which is like the Garden of Eden. She supposedly was an enemy of Merlin, the magacian but I wasn't able to find out why. She was quick with a sword and could fight as good as any knight. Some writers say King Arthur forgave her affair with Lancelot and others say she was imprisoned for committing adultery. She was kidnapped by Mordred but rescued by Lancelot. This kidnapping supposedly took place because Guinevere quarreled with Mordred's wife, who was also her sister and the sister and Mordred wanted revenge on her. This supposedly caused the Battle of Camlann.

Other writers claim Mordred was in love with Guinevere and wanted her for himself and that is why he kidnapped her. The Queen is believed to have died in a convent at Amesbury and others say that Lancelot killed her because he couldn't have her. She was buried at Meigle. The monks placed a cross on her grave saying she was King Arthur's second wife. Supposedly, the Queen's identical twin sister took Guinevere's place while the real Guinevere ran off with Lancelot. Later, the deception was uncovered and the true Queen Guinevere was returned to King Arthur. Authors and historical writers have used her as a useful tool for romance through centuries and enhanced all the legends of King Arthur and Camelot. She is a lady to be admired indeed.

Some sources say Guinevere was a teen-aged woman when she married Arthur. Some say Arthur was only fifteen or sixteen. Other sources say he was twenty years old or older. Merlin, the Magician hated her because he said she would commit adultery with a young knight and be the downfall of Camelot. Merlin was in love with the Lady Of The Lake also known as Morgan LaFay, Arthur's sister.

Morgan LaFay was Arthur's sister and hated her because she got to be Queen and Morgan was always going to be a Princess. Guinevere met Lancelot who was the Best Knight of the Land and they fell in love. She committed adultery with him and all the knights knew about it. King Arthur's illegtimate son found out about it and told his father. He requested that she be burned alive at the stake. Lancelot rescued Guinevere minutes before the execution could be carried out. Her marriage ended in divorce. She never married Lancelot. He stayed a knight and she became a Nun. King Arthur's son ruled the land in his father's absence and ruined Camelot and the land. King Arthur came back, reclaimed his throne and killed his son.

Another source says Guinevere was one of the Queens of Summer Country. Lancelot and Guinevere never made love. They just kissed and held hands. She and Lancelot had a relationship but after she married King Arthur, the relationship stopped. Another source says Guinevere's mother forc ed her to marry King Arthur. There are so many tales of Guinevere and I love them all. I admire Guinevere whether her stories were true or not. She is a famous Princess and Queen.
