COMING HOME

The tree is in and decorated
with garland, lights and snow,
The kitchen smells sugary sweet
and it's ten degrees below!

Yet they come home for the holiday,
every year to reminise -
The sound of laughter and
the memories too good to miss.

The family gathers round for songs
and happiness lights their eyes
when they mingle in the kitchen
checking out all the pies.

Winter cannot damper the spirit
of a holiday in their heart,
The food and love is abundant
right from the very start.

We will always keep the memories
and a door that opens wide
to let in the family
to all the warmth inside.
