Turning Point
Just a free verse poem about life decisions.

The twists and turns in my life so far have all brought me here...
At the crossroad, I look both ways.
Left, right, left, right, aware of the time passing by,
Tick tocking away each second at a time, yet extending into eternity.

The uncertainty of the future, the darkness...
I fear it yet I know I must pass through it.

If I don't I'll spend my existence stood here at the turning point gathering dust
too afraid to move or to grow.

So I'll move towards my future...
I'll let it change and form me.
I'll walk into the unknown, knowing that at least I moved and lived...
And let life touch me rather than sat cold and alone at the crossroad,
too afraid to ever know what I could have been and where I could have travelled.

I want to see the world not to avoid it.
I want to live it not to fear it.

But sometimes that choice looks so daunting and uninviting.
But I'll take a deep breath,
I'll gather my strength and my will
and take everything that comes as experience.

What else can I do?
This is my life and I want to live it.
