Though the Day Be Long

You wake up in the morning
Just want the day to end.
Though the day be long,
Night will come, my friend.

There’s too much work to do,
And you don’t want to sit.
Though the day be long,
Night will come, so do it.

You’re rushing through the traffic,
Trying to get home.
Though the day be long,
Night will surely come.

You get home and kiss your kids,
But love’s not on your mind.
Though the day be long,
Night time you will find.

To end this silly cycle,
Open up your eyes.
Realize that even when night comes,
The day is right behind.
