Maybe Now I Might Have
The utter relief of letting go.

Maybe you just needed courage.
Maybe you thought things were fine.
Maybe if you had told me.
Maybe I'd have given the time.

I might have changed if you told me.
I might have walked a straighter line.
I might have spent forever holding you.
I might have spent forever blind.

Now I'm here and you're there.
Now we're just memories in time.
Now someone else is holding you.
Now someone else is blind.

Maybe you thought of me as the fool.
Maybe you've had a laugh or two.
Maybe it was all just your way.
Maybe it was all about you.

I might have changed if you told me.
I might have walked a straighter line.
I might have spent forever holding you.
I might have spent forever blind.

Maybe now you've taught me everything.
Maybe there's nothing more to learn.
Maybe now I can let you go.
Maybe now I can let you burn.
