Tale of a Princess
I wrote this poem in English when we read excerpts from "The Canterbury Tales."

Born onto a golden throne
For sins she will need not atone
Porcelain skin and light blue eyes
A princess soon to fall to lies
The maiden picks a flower sweet
Surrounded by the summers’ heat
Her innocence setting with the sun
Becoming a woman with nowhere to run
Emotions clash within her soul
Begging the princess to take control
Protected by a moonless night
The raven-haired beauty takes her flight

Appearing in her opulent gown
The princess glides about the town
Adulterating it with her sweet perfume
Bastet’s will she did resume
Under the guise of a royal call
Into passion she did fall
Bereft of freedom in her home
Was the ghostly princess, left to roam
