Reverie
Something I wrote while being bored to death in Economics. Completely incomprehensible.

Things of beauty often seen
         Mountains white and oceans green
Eagle's wing and sparrow's eye
Stars that flicker ‘cross the sky

Loveliness by sound incurred
         Seraph's choir, Poet’s word
Cricket’s song and baby’s cry
         Nightingale’s sweet lullaby

Splendor’s touch in passing time
         Child's love and laughter's chime
Wisdom’s age and Passion's youth
         Mapping thought in truth’s pursuit

Yet only in the mind are these
         Dragon’s scale and Hero’s deeds
Prince’s love and Muse’s light
         Faerie's glow in darkest night

Theory’s fact veils daydream’s hope
         Writer’s love and Lover’s note
Painter’s hand and Seer’s core
         Glory’s knock at Failure’s door

Beauty’s embers, Proof’s inferno
         Pleasure’s friend or Logic’s fellow?
Dreamer’s dare and Candor’s parry
         Proof deny or Beauty bury?
