Life Without You
Quizmo LaGrande Imagine life without you. Dare not. Who would tune all the guitars? Or stink up the garden with the smolder of cigar? How would roses magically appear in bedside vases? Who would take off my shoes, undoing all the laces? I wonder, who would so graciously make the bed? Who would light a romantic fire, and carefully kiss my head? Who would cook a lovely dinner (setting off the smoke detectors), Who would ogle at my prose and be my dream collector? Imagine life without you. I’d rather not, it’d be too bleak. Who would make me laugh at “good” bad jokes? Who would I cajole when he’s down and needs some strokes? Who would sing along at concerts—too out loud? Or who would I accolade adoringly when he’s proud? Who would play my back As artfully as your upright bass In a smoky bar on a bluesy night? Who would delegate the charm As you did in the mystical light of that full moon night? Imagine life without you. Please don’t. Who’d keep me safe and warm, secure and loved? Who would I stretch my arms around? Who would I hug? But most of all I worry—oh, I pray it not come true, My dearest darling, who'd clean up the doggies’ poo? ~ * ~ Another entry for Dizzley's "Invalid Item"
