ANOTHER CHRISTMAS CAROL

Now I have not been visited yet
by the ghost of Christmas Past,
and the ghost of Christmas Present
I'm sure will be a jolly blast!

As for the ghost of Christmas Future,
A sad thought comes to mind -
With all the crazy happenings,
Will we leave it all behind?

There's more talk of corruption
and talk of the ongoing war;
It makes one stop and think -
"What are we fighting for?"

I'd like to think that Peace on Earth
is quite attainable, and yet -
We don't know what the future holds
but by golly, I can always bet

That a little gift of kindness
Can change our hearts and then
We may be able to really enjoy
The "silly" things again.

Like finding the perfect tree
and bringing it back home -
Decorating with lights of red and green
and our family coming home.

Listening to the songs of carolers
singing of faith, hope and cheer -
No, I don't need the ghosts at all!
My Christmas spirit is already here!

As long as we choose to believe
that God is watching from above,
Each year our holidays will be good
when we remember - how to LOVE!
