The ship came into the harbour
Through the ice and the fog and the mist. Where had it been? What had it seen? What tropical shores had it kissed? Up from sunny Jamaica, From St. Vincent, St. Lucia, St. Kitts. How must it feel? To steer its ships' wheel Through the ice and the fog and the mist? When its cargo of big green bananas Is unloaded and off steward's list, The ship will return To the tropic sun's burn Through the ice and the fog and the mist.
