Summer's serenade
As I sat silently listening

As I sat silently listening
to the sweet songs of summer
as they serenade the evening sky
I watch as the setting sun
echoes whispers of twilight
to bring to an end, this another day

And as night approaches
on a darkening sky
I stare in wonder
at the awe of God
displayed on the far horizons

A sight that inspired my soul
with a longing to at last come
and once again lay down
the burdens gathered on this,
a journey called life.
