The greatest disaster

Shattered Hope

One more time I believed
in each new promise that you made
and one more time I found myself
alone and more afraid.
-
I wait for you at Christmas time
just hoping I will hear,
that you're not kidding anymore
and will be home this year.
-
Every year I wait for you
all the kidding put aside
and tell myself time and again
this time you haven't lied.
-
With each new promise that you break
you make me more aware,
that you are just another one
of those who do not care.
