A poem about faith

This horrible war we’re in
Where’s everybody’s faith gone then?
Can you really still believe?

So many lies and bends
What a mess we’re in
When will it all be retrieved?

But then I believe it
Because I’ve seen it
It was there the whole time

I look at the sun
And I know there’s a heaven
I watch a calm sea
And I can believe

The Earth is my proof
Of the Divine, the truth
Because I can feel the rainstorms
I can see life form

Listen to them preach and fight
Only one of us is right
Can’t we all be wrong?

When you feel the sun on your side
When you see the waters rise
Can’t you tell we all belong?

I look at your face
And I know there’s a heaven
I watch a baby smile
And I can believe

Life is my proof
Of the Divine, the truth
Because I can feel your warm hands
The way you help me to stand

I know what this life is for
Even when it gets a little blurred

Because I can still watch the sun set
I can still see the sky storm
I can feel the ground, wet
And I know there’s something more
