I’m having a self-conscious day, I tell him
Shamefully unveiling my slices and scars. You look beautiful as always, responds Before I can rebury my mutilated face in my hat Would’ve been nice to hear, I think Before I tried to re-form myself for you. Though, it’s nice to hear it for once from a guy who Isn’t drunk, doesn’t want anything from me When I haven’t even looked in a mirror. But even though I don’t think I believe him A tiny corner of me feels validated anyway, And maybe I don’t need to hide.
