Absently
Gently drifting off, Her head lays silent On a goose-down pillow. Slowly, she drifts away. To her dreamland. Over her, a scent lingers, Flowing through the moment. Peacefully, she slumbers. Each noise she makes Reminds me of her presence, Focusing my attention. Under a heavy blanket of thought. My mind turns to a memory, Eclipsing the reality of the moment. She is far away now, Tumbling among her dreams. I gaze on her lovely brow, Laughing at her peaceful struggle, Loving her as she dreams. Coursing through this space, Lingering around us Is the ghost of a perfume. No disturbance could break this Gingerly, I touch her cheek; I smile and close my eyes. Nodding at the suggestion, Guiding me to her. There is the scent in the air Over us it lingers. I breathe the perfume That holds us in this moment.
