Angie's Love
In 1980, my stepdaughter Angie was 2 yrs old. I was sick one day, and she took care of me.

ANGIE'S LOVE
4/10/80

She speaks to me in a language only a parent can understand
Yet her meaning is crystal clear.
She strokes my arm with her tender little hand
These are the precious times that I hold dear.
She's stubborn and sweet, in her own lovely way
Her smile tickles my heart
She makes an adventure out of every single day
I fell in love with her right from the start.

chorus
And Angie's love is a pure love, precious as it can be
Innocent is the child's love, none so sweet to me.

She finds joy in every waking moment, in the simplest of things
Like looking at pictures, or talking
She sits beside me, plays her little guitar and sings
And I can remember when she first started walking.
She likes to act just like her daddy, anything for a laugh
Like walking around in my shoes and hat.
There's no sound so dear as to hear that little girl laugh
Or to hear her call me DADDY.

chorus, twice
fine ending
