Tears of Emotion Tears are but droplets of emotion Drawn from the well of the soul Our heart, the bucket used to gather them The eyes but a ladle from which they are served A tear born of hatred Will drown compassion A tear born of compassion Will drown hatred A tear drawn in anger Will blur the eyes to understanding A tear drawn in understanding Will blur the eyes to anger A tear shed in doubt Weakens the love within A tear shed in love Weakens the doubt within A tear tempered by pain Hardens us to forgiveness A tear tempered by forgiveness Hardens us to pain A tear never flowing Is an emotion forever lost An emotion never shared Drowns the soul in tears
