The Chamber Was Dark

The chamber was dark,
Hallucinations were stark
Enticing thoughts of pain.
Control I must gain
Hearing myself moan
Aloud, I groan.
My mind is gone
Body too, before long.
Echoes surround
Relaxation not found
Whispers, I still hear
Alone, yet it's near.
Shadows dance
Dread stance
Alone, I lay
R.E.M. betrays
Keeping me awake.
