Loving the wrong man.

This poem is written in the Pantoum form.

Whatever you say

Whatever you say matters no more,
Your cascading words fall on deaf ears.
Long overdue, I'm closing the door,
And I'll have you know – there were no tears!

Your cascading words fall on deaf ears,
Cruel you were, not a single kind act.
And I'll have you know – there were no tears,
My integrity is still intact!

Cruel you were, not a single kind act,
Painful sentiments went unheeded.
My integrity is still intact,
The love I had was never needed.

Painful sentiments went unheeded,
You're so thick-headed, not worth my time.
The love I had was never needed,
Submitting to you was but a crime.

You're so thick-headed, not worth my time,
Long overdue, I'm closing the door.
Submitting to you was but a crime,
Whatever you say matters no more.
