MANGO

To me which fruit does best suit?
Truly it is mango fruit.

Its colour is light yellow,
Inside it is quite mellow.

Its kernel is hard, skin tough;
Between them is juicy stuff.

Soft and plump and sour and sweet,
It is a pleasure to eat.

From a distance one can tell;
It has a distinctive smell.

What variety of taste!
Without it, life is a waste!

Dussehri, Chausaa, Langadaa,
Alfonso and Safeda,

Each is a popular name,
And, to palate, lays a claim.

Ripe mango is tasty, sure.
Unripe, too, has uses more.

It makes great jams and pickles.
The palate it well tickles.

A life without the mango
Would never be a tango.
