Softly treads the night
Walking o'er the ground Silver falling moonbeams Gracing darkened down Sleeping nests of birds Cooing in their slumber Dreaming dens of bears Wearing cloaks of umber Slickened frogs in chorus Sing their nocturnal song And crickets play a tune Chanting the night along
