Why Does It Have To Be This Way?

Why does it have to be this way?
Bad memories of yeterday.
Bad memories of you and me.
Always arguing, buzz, buzz bumble bee.

Why does it have to be this way?
Problems mounting and bills to pay.
Nowhere to hide, nowhere to go.
You must face the music once more.

Why does it have to be this way?
Want to stay in bed and just rest today.
Want to just think about me and you.
Without distractions,
no intrusions just y-o-u.

Why does it have to be this way?
Cruel people in the world
and the games they play.
Laughing and sneering at all that you do
even when it's good, righteous and true.

Laughing and tauting as they walk about,
without any remorse, love or doubt.
That what theyr'e doing
is what you deserve.
Spinning their web of hate
as they throw you
curve after curve.

Why does it have to be this way?
Drive-bys and shooting as children play.
Men beating up on women
who were once proud and strong
now just another statistic
what could be more wrong.

I'm glad that one day
it will be this way.
Love bewteen the
small and the great.

Love and peace
no sickness at all
no police needed at the malls.
Freedom to love whomever I choose.
You free to love me and
I free to love you.

PS: Tommorow's glories refer to one day being as a thousand and a thousand years being as one day.
