Second Chances Torn from love's warm flesh. Thrown upon the floor Of carelessness. Held up before injured, Untrusting eyes. A million diamond memories. Dreams in emerald; Tears of ruby and sapphire Embedded in broken trust. Disappointments gleam dully From mirrored facets. Reflection inside reflection, Pain inside fear. Discarded jewels of Yesterday reforged, redeemed. Tarnished band of betrayal Melts into golden hope. Tempered in soft words, Lilting, rainbow laughter Sparkles in gilt claws Of perfectly wrought kindness. Newly beheld, Beauty renewed. Similar but unique. Precious. Beauty quietly Awaiting courage To place it upon Love's second chance.
