I've got to...
Get past the sadness
Move on to the gladness

Let go of the pain
And be happy again

Come out in the sun
And have a little fun

My whole life is in front of me
I can be whatever I want to be

I can be okay
Just for today

I know I can do it
I just have to go through it

One minute at a time
Each hour is mine

To do as I choose
I can forget the blues

And move on to something better
I want more out of life, darnit!

I know the last line didn't rhyme
But I couldn't care less

It's too much stress
Trying to fit into a box

I'm breaking free, baby
Of the chains that held me down

I'm giving myself permission to be happy
